What Games Are Broadcast on the NFHS Network?

Most regular season games are produced by one of the participating schools.

While we provide the technology, platform, and support for schools to broadcast games, the schools have full control over which games they choose to broadcast on the Network. Schools also handle all elements of scheduling and production for regular season games.

The NFHS Network and respective state associations are often involved in the production of many post season and championship games. However, schools are still able to produce and broadcast post season and championship games at their own discretion.

On demand videos are automatically uploaded to the network after the completion of the live broadcast, however, certain games or events may be unavailable for on demand viewing at the discretion of the school, state association, publisher, or network.

On demand events may also be partially or fully muted due to music copyright laws, with certain events having an audio-overlay in place of the original audio.

Why is My Game in a Blackout Period?

There are a couple of reasons why an event may not be broadcasting or appears to be in a Blackout Period:

  1. If a school is broadcasting their own game, they reserve the right to blackout the on demand replay for a period of time of their choosing. The most common reason for a school blacking out their own game is so that other schools cannot study their formations and plays to gain a competitive advantage.
  2. A game can also be blacked out due to conflicting television and media contracts. There are numerous local and regional ordinances concerning high school athletics to which schools must adhere to.

Can I Watch on More than One Device?

Your subscription allows for full access to steam live or on demand video for one device at a time. You can stream on different devices as long as you are only using one of those devices at a time.

If your account is used on multiple devices at the same time, you may encounter the following message:

Warning: Your account has now exceeded the number of allowed connections. Please click refresh to re-authorize.

You will have to sign out and then sign back into your account to regain access if you have exceeded maximum number of connections.

If you wish to watch content simultaneously on multiple devices, you will need to create another account and purchase an additional pass
